About Ju Ju Creations

I would say I am mainly a self taught seamstress with over 20 years experience teaching adults.  I have learnt so much from trail and error over the years that I now love nothing more than passing on my knowledge so that others don't make as many mistakes as I did.  I can't say with all honesty that I won't make any further mistakes and thats why an unpicked is always by my side but hopefully with some guidance and hints and tips from me  you will make far less mistakes than I have and save some pennies along with it to!

My back ground, before returning to sewing, was with a Large Retail Company as a Senior Manager for 15 years.  The aspect of the role that I enjoyed the most was being a mentor and tutor and I honestly believe I received some of the finest training, at the time, on how to teach and coach adults.  It was only natural then that when I left, to focus on my family, I returned to my previous passion of Arts and Crafts but to want to teach in this field.

I Graduated from Hereford Art College in Design Crafts with a HND in Design Crafts after completing a foundation course in Art and Design and relevant A levels and GCSEs prior to that.  I have always had a natural curiosity of the world around me and exploring different art mediums with my greatest joy coming from garment making. So after the birth of our two children I decided to start creating garments and bags mainly because I couldn’t find anything that fitted in the shops or bags with enough pockets!

I like practical, fun clothing and I was frustrated with the clothes in the shops as they no longer fitted my mature, fuller figure as easily as they did in my 20s!  So I started making clothes and I learnt how to adjust patterns to create garments I now feel great in”

I live in Ulverston, Cumbria, with my husband and children, and apart from sewing I love nothing better than spending time at one of the many beaches nearby, either with my family or a walk with a friend.

I still have a thirst for learning new things and I am always taking part in some form of 'Professional Development" commonly know as Continuous Professional Development or CPD for short!

Here are some I have taken part in over the years :-
